Having lived and worked for a year in Africa, specifically Namibia, my husband and I recognized the plight of young women and girls bearing children while still nearly children themselves and the resulting childbirth complication of fistulas. Without a simple surgical procedure to correct this condition, these young women become outcasts to their family and friends, but the Fistula Foundation offers them a cure and a return to a normal life with dignity. We are so grateful that the Fistula Foundation exists as are so many who have, after treatment, gone on to become staff and advisors to other young women in need of care. We are extremely proud supporters of the Fistula Foundation.
