I read about this issue in an article a few years ago in the New York Times and subsequently found out about the important work the Fistula Foundation does to help women with this terrible but resolvable problem. It feels great to know there is an organization that finds solutions to this problem that truly doesn't need to be so pervasive, and I am excited to be able to give, knowing that my small donations go toward real relief.
