Review for Martell's Landing Education Center, Somerset, WI, USA

Rating: 4 stars

Martell's Landing Education Center is an excellent example of preservation and education. I have had exchange students from all over the world visit the center, and they have expressed amazement at the beauty, calm and peace of the center. It is not often that students from China, Thailand, Brazil, Russia, Norway, Belgium, Germany, etc. have an opportunity to visit such a place.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the effect visiting such a place has on students from around the world. Many have views of the US that have been impacted by their visit.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

have them expand their outreach to foreign students.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Friendliness of the staff, knowledge of the area, and willingness to answer questions from the students.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

involved in overall running of the facility.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

be a great example of the marriage of preservation and education. They could expand their efforts to reach more children, and they could extend/expand their offerings to a variety of education topics.

Ways to make it better...

a group of students could have stayed a couple of days.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

lack of adequate funds to support efforts.

One thing I'd also say is that...

We need more places like Martell's Landing. In this digital world (and I myself am guilty of technology reliance), we fail to see the beauty and peace of nature.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About once a year

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  General Member of the Public & I host exchange students from all over the world and want to expose them to preservation efforts in the US and education efforts to maintain balance on our planet.
