Review for National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc., Frisco, TX, USA
The fundraiser that I set up with Westside Fitness was a 60 minute yoga class, focused on a yoga flow designed for breast cancer survivors. I am currently studying to become a yoga therapist and my area of focus is on using yoga for breast cancer recovery. Part of my certification is to teach several demonstrative therapeutic yoga classes, and Cathy (manager of Westside Fitness) was gracious enough to let me use her space to teach the two classes. Cathy and I both decided that entry into the class would be on a donation base only and all proceeds would benefit the fight against breast cancer.
We decided on National Breast Cancer Foundation because we believe in your mission, “to provide help and inspire hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education, and support services.” As a yoga instructor my goal is to educate everyone on the benefits of yoga and how it can help them in their daily lives. Through my research and from class feedback, I am learning what yoga can do for breast cancer survivors.
I believe that both classes were a great success with about 15 students participating in each session and walking away with a new and positive experience. Having never hosted a fundraiser before, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was blown away by the amount of money raised and the support received. I walk away from this experience feeling encouraged and inspired and grateful to be able to support such a worthy cause.
Thanks for your five-star review! We appreciate you sharing about your positive experience. Fundraisers like you help bring our mission to life!
