I have donated to the Fistula Foundation for well over ten years. The women needing surgeries are young (early, early teens) mothers who have been forced into a marriage and suffered long birthings; fistulas result and then the girls are rejected by everyone because of their leakage and smell... The Fistula Foundation repairs these young women's condition, provides a place for them to stay while they heal (physically and emotionally), and sends them back to their community with new clothing, new hope, as well as renewed self-respect and health--priceless birthrights for all women.
