I recently joined YPA, this past summer, and I am so happy I did. The group is so welcoming and it is so nice to meet and network with community members who have my same passion, insight, and goals. Events are always being planned and posted on the YPA Facebook page and website, which makes it so easy to get involved and learn about cool things going on around town. My first event I attended, I felt very intimidated going into it. I went alone and told myself I was at least going to meet one new person. Turned out, I met and spoke with almost everyone there. Everyone was so welcoming and excited to have new friends attending. It was truly refreshing and inspiring. This is a wonderful group of people who are really doing a wonderful thing for the area; from volunteer work to brainstorming- it's amazing.

The Cambria County Humane Society (CCHS), from what I can tell, is amazing. Please keep in mind, I have absolutely no experience with shelters whatsoever, but I care about kindness and respect... and they have it. It's easy to see the CCHS has low funding, yet they make the best with what they have. They do not beg for funding, but when community members reach out to help, they are more than happy to assist and cheer them on. They make the community feel like they are a part of the organization just as much as they are. They encourage people to take part in helping out and they are so passionate about doing as best as they can with what they have. I am proud to have them in my city.
