while i myself am not a home gardener, i endorse the practice as a way of saving the expense of supermarket shopping [including gas for the car to get there]. in addition, nonprofits like ampleharvest.org encourage sharing of excess growth with needy neighbors, thus improving life in their communities.

ampleharvest.org certainly deserves top ranking as a nonprofit! it provides information without cost to anybody. it's an online service that enables home gardeners to locate food pantries in their areas to which they can donate excess fruits and vegetables. there's no charge for the information. it performs what in yiddish is called a mitzvah!

any who have ever experienced hunger with no way to satisfy that need for something in their bellies will grasp what a great mitzvah ample harvest is performing! ample harvest is even more important these days, given the loss of income for many because of the corona virus shut-downs and related events. while i have no personal experience with hunger, i can well imagine what it must be like for those who do, and i bless those who seek to help with programs like ample harvest!

Ample Harvest connects gardeners with local food pantries for donating excess harvested produce. It's a great service for the community.

ample harvest is a very atypical "commercial" organization: it costs nothing for parties to join. it requires only sharing contact information online between gardeners who wish to donate excess produce and local food pantries that offer fresh vegetables and fruit to the needy, how often does one find that in this highly ceo-$-focused world?

while i'm neither a gardener nor a food pantry person, i so admire the efforts of folks who promote programs that relieve hunger and other forms of human suffering! ampleharvest.org does so with heart and soul, and at no $ cost to either gardener or food pantry! bravo!

the ampleharvest.org non-profit is truly a non-profit in every sense; it provides for gardeners who sign up one of those rarities in today's world - a way of "giving" to others without opening their wallets or check books! as such, ample harvest also offers an opportunity for folks wanting to promote this effort to make birthday, anniversary, and other gifts by way of a donation, taking the guess work out of what to give to whom. it's a win-win situation all around!
