I adopted my best bud Angel from SCCA. The amount of love and rehabilitation they showed her is amazing: she was a puppy mill mom who had been locked inside a cage for most of her life - but they gave her a second chance and the start to a wonderful and love-filled life! I am so grateful to see the work they do with these beautiful (and often mistreated) animals. I wanted to much to give back to them I became a volunteer! Now I really get to see how in-depth their care for these animals go. They provide amazing training for staff, owners, and volunteers and really focus on positive reinforcement. Their animals aren't just 'a number in a cage'; I have seen everyone there become truly invested in the care and love of each animal - giving them specialized attention and really catering to each individual personality. Their goal seems to be to show these animals a nicer side to human nature and to show these animals care and compassion so that they may have a second chance at a beautiful and fulfilling life. I absolutely love everything about Second Chance and I am so grateful wonderful people like their staff members come together each day for the care of these loving dogs and cats.
