Review for Institute on Aging, San Francisco, CA, USA
This is a wonderful nonprofit that definately gives back to the community. Not only do they provide adult day care but also a telephone line where volunteers call seniors in the program, remind them to take medications or just have a daily chat. This nonprofit makes it easy and fund to donate to. My husband and I participate in the yearly Cablecar Caroling each December. We visit several senior home in S.F. and sing Christmas carols all while traveling through the city on motorized cablecars. All proceeds from the event go to the IOA. We also participate in the Dinner A La Heart each week before Valentine's Day. Local restaurants partner with the IOA and donate an evening of delicious dining and wonderful ambiance meanwhile, all proceeds benefit the IOA. Wish there were more nonprofits such as the Institute on Aging.
