Review for Arroyo Seco Foundation, Los Angeles, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

For more than twenty years now, the Arroyo Seco Foundation has been championing the protection and enhancement of one of Southern California's environmental gems, the Arroyo Seco canyon and watershed. ASF had made the Arroyo an living laboratory and a model of watershed management. They restored the habitat and even re-introduced a native fish, the Arroyo Chub, to the stream.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the enthusiasm of young people who learn about nature and green jobs, the trees sprouting on the banks of the Arroyo, and the fish returning to the stream.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

push even harder for substantial funding to restore the stream and watershed.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

watching to area slowly be restored to more natural conditions.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

friendly, smart and energetic.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

remove tons of concrete from the stream and restore native habitat and gish.

Ways to make it better...

we could move faster to upgrade teh Arroyo.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

institutional barriers to sound environmental management of the area.

One thing I'd also say is that...

ASF does exciting and rewarding that future generations will value.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010
