Betsy Haas, President of Aide for Animals, is one of the most compassionate animal rescuers that I have ever met. Her entire life and savings, is dedicated to caring for all of the rescues at her facility. Many will live out the remainder of their lives at AFA, but will never realize they're in a shelter, thanks to Betsy's love.

AFA takes in more unwanted cats than any other shelter that I've seen. Betsy's entire life revolves around caring for the cats and dogs at AFA. She will go without, before any of them do. It's amazing what she's able to do, with very limited donations and very few volunteers. The love that Betsy has for all living beings, is unmatched. Any and all donations going toward the care of these animals, will be greatly appreciated, and put to good use.

AFA is the only sanctuary around here, for long term hospice care and a retirement center for old, neglected, special needs (including FIV cats), and just unadoptable cats and dogs. All cats and dogs brought into AFA, are spayed, neutered, vaccinated and tested. Any that do not get adopted, will live out their lives being cared for here. Betsy Haas has a huge heart, and treats all of these animals equally, & gives them everything she has! AFA works with a very, very small group of volunteers, and with limited donations, but the cats and dogs here are the #1 priority. It's rare to find someone like Betsy, who's whole life revolves around these animals. I'm so grateful for the chance to volunteer with such an amazing group, and for the help AFA has given me with animals.

Aide for Animals is such a wonderful rescue and sanctuary! Betsy devotes every minute of her days to the needs of all of the cats and dogs there. I am so blessed to have met Betsy when she took in some kittens that I found, and I've been volunteering weekly ever since. I've never met a more kind, caring, compassionate and dedicated person in my life! I'm proud to say that I'm a volunteer and donor at AFA, and plan to be for the rest of my life. With that being said, AFA can always use additional volunteers in many capacities and always needs donations to help with the continued (sometimes forever) care of the cats and dogs. There are also many beautiful, sweet, loving cats, that would love to be adopted, but if that doesn't happen, they have a forever home at AFA. Betsy treats every single animal like a family member!
