Like most people on this one particular day in downtown Seattle, i was in a rush. For me it was a rush to get to work on time. At first i was hesitant to talk to the guy on the street with the clipboard asking if i wanted to sponsor a child overseas. But being a guy who's interested in foreign cultures, i stopped for a few minutes. Then chatted with the guy and decided to sponsor a child in The Philippines. So here i am nearly 5 years later and i can tell you it's worth it and not just monetarily but spiritually. Even if you can only sponsor a child for 2 years it's worth it. Just in the time that i sponsored my child, i saw him go from a young boy to nearly a young man starting his first year of college. It's nice to know i could help him in some way for a while even though i have a small income myself.
