Deciding to travel to Cape Town, South Africa to volunteer as a part of One Heart Source was one of the greatest decisions I've ever made. My experience with this non-profit has caused me to positively grow as a person in a countless number of ways. It allowed me to meet people from around the world and establish friendships and relationships that will last a lifetime. I went in thinking I would just be teaching young students basic subjects like Math and Reading, and came out of it learning so much more about life from my students. Being welcomed into the community of Imizamo Yethu like we were family is something I've never experienced before, and the people of the community will always hold a special place in my heart. If someone were to ask me if they should volunteer with One Heart Source, I would say, without a doubt, ABSOLUTELY YES.
