Review for Shoes That Fit, Claremont, CA, USA
Our AZ Shoes That Fit chapter is called the "FATE Group" (named in memory of our fathers (Frank and Nate). The goal of our Shoes That Fit/FATE Group is to provide new athletic shoes to Phoenix/Scottsdale children-in-need. A surprisingly large percentage of our local children come from financially impoverished families. These children often times wear just socks, “flip-flops” or ill-fitting, worn/torn shoes, to school, which make it difficult for them to participate in routine school or recreational activities. Having appropriate footwear, let alone properly fitting athletic shoes, is a luxury for these children.
Since beginning our Scottsdale chapter of Shoes That Fit in January, 2006, FATE Group has provided more than 7,311 pairs of new athletic shoes to children enrolled in schools in the Paradise Valley, Creighton, Mesa, Tempe, Pendergast, Sun City West, Madison, Glendale and Scottsdale Unified School Districts. Shoes That Fit-FATE Group has also donated new athletic shoes to Jewish Family + Children’s Services, Girls on the Run, Crisis Nursery, UMOM, DeColores Shelter, Salt River Reservation, AZ Military Adopt-a-Family and the Phoenix Streetlight Program.
We could not have donated all these shoes without the unwavering support and guidance of Shoes That Fit in Claremont, CA. The entire staff in Claremont is helpful, resourceful, knowledgable and encouraging. BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE IN CLAREMONT. We are very proud to be one of your chapters.
