Review for FIV Cat Rescue, Fort Bragg, CA, USA
A few months ago, one of our volunteers found an FIV-FELV-positive cat and was at loggerheads about what to do with him. I went online to do some research and wound up carrying on a steady correspondence with Frankie Kangas, the founder of FIV Cat Rescue. She educated me about the difference between FIV and FELV cats, which helped me a lot in the work that I do as a pet columnist. She also suggested a couple of places to take Mr. Big, for that was the name my friend gave him.
My friend couldn't bear to part with Mr. Big, of course, and wound up keeping him isolated in his "own room." He didn't have a long time with her, but he gained end-of-life care that he wouldn't otherwise have had, and my friend and I wound up a whole heck of a lot smarter about FIV and FELV. Thanks, Frankie!
