I have been following Shadow Cats for years now. Shadow Cats is definitely THE best rescue site for special needs cats. This organization has beyond compassionate people volunteering for them. Everyone at Shadow cats has literally given all their time, love and lives to this wonderful cause to help these cats that are often terminal.
Shadow cats has definitely helped me as they have not only opened my eyes, and educated me on the need of these special needs fur babies that "meow", but also the utter important of TNR. In fact about 3 years ago just after I started to follow Shadow Cats on Facebook, we found a feral cat and her five 3 week old kittens. Shadow Cats came immediately to mind.
One kitten had both eyes glued shut and two others had one glued shut. Terrible shape they were in. Long story short, contacted our vet ( we have 3 strictly indoor fur babies that "meow" ) told him the story, told him I needed antibiotics and eye med's/ointment ASAP. Got me some surgical gloves to wear.
While husband was feeding "Mama Cat" on the other side of garage, I put antibiotics down them and eye medicine in every one of their eyes. Did this twice a day for 10 days. Within 24 hours of starting, everyone of those kittens eyes were wide open and clear.
When Mama Cat was eating I would hold those babies with my surgical gloved hands getting them use to humans. When they were eating Mama Cats food, found homes for them. Then trapped Mama cat and had her TNR'd immediately. She has never left our back yard since. So in a "indirect" way Shadow cats helped me with this feral and her kittens with education. I vote for Shadow Cats.
