Review for The National Military Family Association, Alexandria, VA, USA
This is an incredible organization. The staff consists largely of military spouses that are willing to work for below market wages because they are devoted to the mission of the organization. The organization identified a need for educational help for military spouses and created a scholarship program, solicited initial funding from General Dynamics and now have a program just a few years later that will grant over 500 scholarships this year. After a long career with an elite Federal Agency, I have never been prouder to serve than helping this dedicated group.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
seeing the difference there scholarship program can mean to military spouses and the tremendous value their Operation Purple camps have been to the children of our deployed military
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
working with a wonderful group of people helping our military families in a time of great stress on military personnel and their families.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
incredible. There is nothing so rewarding as working with a group of smart people who are dedicated to the cause they are working for and who dont care what the clock says./
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Keep the Operation Purple camps going for at least two to three more years.
Ways to make it better...
I could give themn more time and help than I do.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
raising the funds necessary to keep the Operation Purple camps going after 2010. It will be sad if we can,t keep these camps going as long as we have so mny people in harms way around the world.
