I haven't visited APOPO yet (I would love to one day), but I follow them religiously on social media and absolutely LOVE what they are doing. Not only are they changing the general stigma against rats, but they are doing so in a way that is actively and highly effectively saving lives. I understand that the people working for the organisation (particularly the ground level staff and the guys out in the field) face many difficulties (financially and otherwise). My heart and respect goes out to them and everyone involved with this NPO for what they do - and I hope that many more people come to learn more about them and what they already have and are continuing to achieve. #GoHeroRats!
