Review for Armed Services YMCA of the USA Twenynine Palms, Twentynine Palms, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I volunteer here and have used their services. Their parent/child classes are wonderful. Melissa and Lisa really know how to get your child to learn and help you achieve the tools yoursself to do it at home. Deborah and Jessie are great with my older child as she has gone through the Op Hero and KCC club. She learned how to give back to the community which is great to teach at a young age. The Thrift Store is a great place to find bargains and the staff there is always willing to help you find something and take it to your car. The office staff in the Admin building always is helpful and seem to know when my hands are full and open the door for me. They talk to my little one even when she goes into an office she isn't suppose to.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My children becoming better educated, giving back and volunteering, and saving money.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

all the staff is helpful and if they see you having a problem they immediately help you with it. Even if it is opening the door when your hands are full.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

help the military families by offering more classes, having more rooms in a larger building, and expanding the Thrift Store.

Ways to make it better...

They had more classes offered in the afternoon.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

The limited funds and staff. The office is small and packed. There is offices hiding everywhere to accomidate all the things that they do.

One thing I'd also say is that...

anyone that is new to the area should come see what they have to offer. Even is you don't have children they can offer things that you would not find at other bases.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
