I have been a volunteer for 16 years. It is manned by all volunteers and donations. We have saved and helped not only horses but many other animals. Nothing is turned away.

I have been at the rescue 13 years. When I first starting going, I knew nothing about horses. There were so many patient people and horses that taught me so much! I found people out there that were like me and understood how animals were such an important part of my life! Folks that are as passionate about the fate of animals as I. I met my first horse who changed my life. She was so very patient with me and taught me so much! I think she loved me as much as I did her! Everyday I am with the horses, makes everyday a little brighter! Save the horses is as much of rescue for animals as it is for people!

I have been involved with this rescue for 12 years. I started as a volunteer, owner and now I am also a board member. I have seen so many wonderful things done at HRRRF. Not only do we save horses but goats, sheep, pigs, ducks, chickens, turkeys, cats, dogs, and anything else that needs rescued. The horses have also helped rescue people.
A horse may come in starved, afraid, sick but the rescue fixes all that it can. Sometimes we can't fix the ill and then Cheryl must make the hardest decision of all. But I can tell you when they are rehomed, they are healthy and happy.
It's a happy place for people not just animals. We all work toward a common goal... Help the horse no matter what it takes!
