Review for Big Cat Rescue, Corp., Odessa, FL, USA
I stayed overnight in a cabin there many years ago when you could interact with a few of the smaller cats. I enjoyed my visit then, and donated money, which I now regret. I have watched stories about the cats evolve over the years since, many of them conflicting. I know some of them had to be out-and-out lies because two stories that contradict each other cannot both be true. I have watched other facilities and individuals get trashed online by the CEO, CFO, and supporters, few of whom deserved the misleading and sometimes vicious comments that were made. Anyone who speaks out against their smear campaigns is in danger of being added to their 911 Animal Abuse website, which was once just another page within the BCR site itself. There are many other deserving sanctuaries that could use your help, that will use your donations to upgrade their facilities as well as feed the animals. In recent photos, I have seen the same flimsy wire cages that were there 15 years ago, still in use, only now getting corroded and rusty. Yet somehow other sanctuaries that take in far less money manage to do better than that. For more information, check out this link: http://www.bigcatrescuewatch.com (PS - I was NOT paid to write this review. At one time, BCR actually paid people for positive reviews, which I find to be a despicable practice. Beware, there are many other companies that do this!)
