Review for Horse Rescue Relief and Retirement Fund Inc (SaveTheHorses.Org), Cumming, GA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Save the Horses is an amazing sanctuary for the animals and for the people who volunteer there. The care and love they bring to this precious place is felt in every interaction with both the animals (they save more than horses!) and their volunteers. I've learned so much about how to interact with these wonderful creatures, and the team is great about letting me step up to a new level of care and responsibility whenever I feel ready, with lots of coaching and help along the way. I know it seems like we as volunteers are helping this sanctuary, but I feel like they have given me so much more. Save the Horses and its people are truly a blessing.

I've been volunteering with Save the Horses in various forms for over 7 years. Their love for both animals and people who love animals makes them an amazing place to love and learn about horses, but also chickens, roosters, dwarf horses, sheep, goats, pigs, and a very special cow named Rosie, who has never known so much love. They (the people) are patient, and kind, and love teaching others how to give these precious animals the special care they need, while giving these animals the love and care they need to recover and retire to live their best life. I've never seen a place like it, and the animals and their people are the best of the bunch.

I cannot even begin to express how impressed I am with this organization. Not only is their concern and love for these animals clear in everything they do, but they take the time to take people like me and educate us about how to care for these animals. Horses can be tough to handle - there's a lot to know. But the volunteers and staff at Horse Rescue, Relief, and Retirement really let you help as much or as little as you like. I've donated, cleaned stalls, groomed horses, and been able to play and love on the animals too (under friendly supervision and guidance). They are warm and kind, and even have orientations for volunteers on how to volunteer with horses, which covers some of the technical aspects as well as horse etiquette. I hope to work with them for many years to come!
