This is a super rescue! We rescued Guinness, Mammoth Donkey, a while back and he has grown into a really sweet riding donkey. This rescue is a major fixture in the community, helping many animals in need. They also work with the community rescue services to be prepared to rescue equine in emergency situations. All around great rescue.

This is an excellent nonprofit that serves the horse/animal population and the human population. I have donated money and horse supplies over the years . Cheryl and her large team of volunteers always do whatever it takes to save any animal from an bad situation. We also adopted a wonderful donkey from Save the Horses.

My husband and I met Cheryl Flanagan and learned about HRRRF when we were looking to rescue a donkey. What we discovered was a rescue of the first order. Cheryl makes sure that her rescues only go to good homes. If they need medical care and rehab, she keeps them until they are fit, and then looks for the perfect home. She will keep them forever rather than put them in the wrong environment. All animals are well fed and groomed. There are always lots of volunteers around taking care of all the animals. Also, Cheryl runs a wonderful program for children who have experienced trauma and benefit from time spent with animals. We were able to adopt a wonderful donkey that has become a much loved pet and companion for my horse. We donate to this rescue on a regular basis.
