When I first signed up, I figured I could at least help scoop up the poop. I had no idea how much I would learn. Save the Horses has an amazing group of volunteers that is always growing. They have horses, mules, chickens, goats, pigs and sheep that have all come with different circumstances. Some of them with serious health issues and get the help they need that turns their life around. I love the care that the volunteers, the community, friends of Save the Horses and veterarians pull together to help the animals and the humans.

When I signed up, I figured I would be scooping poop a few hours a week. I had no idea of all the different things there are to do, animals to take care of and people I would meet. This is a great group of people to work with and Cheryl is incredible. There are so many things to learn about, proper care of the horses, what sheep like to eat, teamwork, how to convince chickens to get back in the coop and also manage poop. :-)

There are always projects and events going on, so there is something for everyone to do. Great place to spend time helping out. I highly recommend it.
