I first served with NECHAMA on the Itawamba tornado response in Mississippi while serving in AmeriCorps NCCC. They offered such a welcoming and supportive environment to not only the disaster survivors, but also the volunteers. They created an engaging and fun environment, while still making the importance of the work we were doing known. I'm so grateful to know a group of such kind and caring people who continue to motivate and inspire others to do good. My time with them has been some of the most meaningful experiences in my life and I look forward to continuing to serve with them on future responses.
