I entered The Motherhood Collective as a new mother, with new concerns & fears, in a new community & state.
Before I even got to the door, I was greeted by mothers with warm, welcoming & inviting smiles. They made me feel comfortable about things that hadn't even crossed my mind in the first few weeks of motherhood. Such as trying different breast feeding positions, baby wearing, which I wouldn't be able to share the knowledge I've gained with other mothers now that I'm back in Michigan, & to embrace my new "mom body". I also gained the confidence to breastfeed in public & to not be ashamed.
However, the most important thing I took away from the professional speakers, small groups, & play dates was that I'm doing the best for my baby & family, even if others don't agree. This gave me confidence I'd never seen in myself. Thank you from one mother to another.
