I have volunteered at TheraPony about 4 years. It is a safe landing for horses and ponies (and any other animals) that have been abused and/or neglected. They are truly part of the family there, and are all much loved and cared for.
TheraPony is also active in the community, helping out animal owners that are struggling, in order to prevent their pets from needing to be rescued.

TheraPony is a wonderful place, not only for the animals in it's care; but for people of all ages. All are welcome to come care for the horses, rabbits, and other animals, and in doing so, receive care themselves!

TheraPony is a small, for the most part, family run rescue that takes in horses that others won't. Their medical and emotional needs are addressed, and they are truly treated like the family 'kids'.
TheraPony also provides a place for people of all ages and abilities to spend time with and care for the horses, from scooping poop, to grooming them, to just loving on them.
TheraPony also has programs in place to to assist horse owners in the community who find themselves in a hard spot, and enable them to keep their horses, rather than surrender them to who knows what.

TheraPony is a small rescue founded by a young girl, operating on a shoestring budget, yet takes in the horses that other rescues will not take because of their special needs. With the help of an amazing veterinarian and volunteers, the Russells provide not only excellent care, but a warm and loving home for these horses and ponies.
They also welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities; and in doing so, provide an opportunity for the local community to receive therapy of a sort.
