Review for Landing Theatre Company, Houston, TX, USA
I am an avid theatre goer and attend many performances in the Houston, TX area. I immediately became been a Landing Theatre fan when I saw SMUDGE at the UH Downtown location. The following year year, they produced EXIT 27, a play about the lost boys of a fundamentalist LDS sect. The quality of the script as well as performances were memorable.
Since then, I've seen three more plays produced by them: ALL IN THE TIMING, DEVIL DOG SIX and HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE.
HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE is their latest production, and it was wonderful. The actors skillfully brought out the humanity in the flawed characters they portrayed.
The Landing Theatre Company is also dedicated in finding four new works by American playwrights to showcase for audiences for the New American Voices Play Reading Series. This event is entirely free to audiences.
I've had the privilege to personally know members of the Company, and they're a wonderful group of people who are dedicated to their craft.
If you're in the Houston area, be sure to catch one of their productions. You'll be glad you did.
