The genius of Grassroot Soccer is reaching those it serves -- middle school and adolescent girls and boys in Africa and beyond -- with the sport that is their passion. Education and prevention are not easy, but the curriculum of this organization combines fun with learning in a way that makes sense and encourages young people and their families to take responsibility for combating HIV-AIDS before it begins. Watching the program in action, I can attest to the fact that it works. The system of recruiting staff and spreading the program to other organizational partners also has worked very well. Also, the members of the Board of Directors have done a great job!
