Review for The Mentoring Network Inc., Nampa, ID, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been a volunteer with The Mentoring Network for over seven years. What a great group of people to be associated with here in SW Idaho! I have now worked with two different students at the elementary school. The support the Mentoring Network offers mentors is excellent and the whole scope of the project is admirable. As school budgets continue to be cut (and proposed tax levies fail), the role of volunteers - especially well-trained & supported ones from the Mentoring Network - is invaluable in the schools. One hour, once a week really does change lives!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

...expand to more small rural communities in SW Idaho.

Review for HELP HAITI NOW INC, Venice, FL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Help Haiti Now is a micro-charity that has been working in Haiti since 2005. Help Haiti Now is a non-profit 501c3 organization founded and directed by Rachel Quirk. HHN is all-volunteer and operates with minimal administrative costs.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

getting relief directly to the area of Montrouis (pronounced "Moo-Wee"), Haiti. HHN started a Children's Home for Earthquake orphans and has been supporting several emergency shelters in the area.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

Role:  Volunteer & Since the earthquake, I've been helping my sister with this project. Mostly web updates and email.
