Review for Wolf Conservation Center Inc, South Salem, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Wolf Conservation Center is my happy place. I have been a donor and active wolf watcher on webcams for the past 9 years, the wolves are very elusive and when I get a chance to see them on the webcams, I am always in awe, I've been to their Sleeping with Wolves in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Unfortunately due to circumstances I've been unable to visit in a while. I'm hoping to go next year.

The Wolf Conservation Center advocates for the critically endangered Mexican Gray Wolves and Red Wolves. Through the Saving Animals From Extinction (SAFE) program previously the Species Survival Program (SSP) they are aiding in the recovery of these magnificent wolves. I can't wait to see the Ambassador wolves Silas and my sweetie, Nikai on my next visit.

Last year due to knee surgery I wasn't able to go. I am sad that this year we didn't end up going either.

The staff and volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable with great sense of humors since the wolves don't exactly do what you expect them to. I have been to the the Wolf Conservation Center twice so far and had a blast both times. A friend and I are planning another trip in August 2018 for the Sleeping With Wolves program which we started making plans for as soon as WCC posted the dates for the program. We are going for two nights again just like we did last year.

The Ambassador wolves are such beauties and it takes my breath away just to be near them (with a fence separating us of course because let's face it they are still wolves ...lol). It is so peaceful there, you can just sit in front of the Ambassador wolves enclosures and watch them romp around or just lay down and take a nap. It's a honor to be able to spend time with them and just be.

WCC is an awesome non-for-profit organization that offers spectacular programs for children of all ages as well as adults. WCC are participants of the SSP Wolf Captive Breeding program which aims to increase the numbers of Red Wolves and Mexican Gray wolves and hopefully release them out into the wild where one day they'll be able to live wild and free. This year there were 10 Red Wolf pups and 12 Mexican Gray Wolf pups born at the WCC and it is such a joy to watch the pups play on WCC's webcams.

The staff and volunteers are super friendly, very knowledgeable and no question is left unanswered.

I am so looking forward to our trip and spending time with the Ambassador Wolves Atka, Alawa, Zephyr and my sweetie, Nikai!

I've had the good fortune of visiting WCC twice so far, last October and again this past weekend where some friends and I went to Sleeping with Wolves. We did a two nighter this time around and had a blast.

The second evening we were there we were sitting outside Ambassador Atka's enclosure and just as a joke I howled and to my surprise and amazement, Atka responded. I was so thrilled to hear him. He is such an awesome wolf and ambassador for his wild kin. Later that evening or I should say early morning the wolves started to howl and it was breathtaking to hear the distict sounds of the Ambassador Wolves Atka, Zephyr, Alawa and Nikai along with the Mexican Gray Wolves and the yips of the Red Wolves it brought tears to my eyes.

As we were just about to leave we were treated to a howlfest by the wolves. My heart just overflowed with joy hearing them. I will definitely be going back to see them again!

I discovered the Wolf Conservation Center (WCC) by accident about three years ago while surfing the net for live wolf webcams and I immediately fell in love. This past year we have witnessed, through the webcams at the WCC, the birth of endangered Red Wolf Pups which was a miracle to behold and watching them as they grew and stretched their little legs was such a joy to witness. Unfortunately we also saw the passing of some amazing Lobos that we were lucky enough to watch through the webcams as well.

Myself and a wonderful group of friends plan to visit WCC in the fall to experience the joys that others have had in seeing the wonderful work WCC does in helping with the recovery of these rare Red and Mexican Gray wolves and their contribution to the revitalization of the wolf species more directly as participants of the SSP Wolf Captive Breeding program and to meet their awesome Ambassador Wolves Atka, Zephyr, Alawa and Nikai.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, WCC staff and volunteers for all the hard work that you do in protecting and caring for these wonderful wolves.

For as long as I can remember I've always loved wolves. I discovered the Wolf Conservation Center (WCC) by accident about two years ago while surfing the net for live wolf webcams and I immediately fell in love with their beautiful white arctic wolf Atka. Since I live far from WCC, it has been such a pleasure to watch Atka via the webcam. I now have all the webcams open and positioned on my screen so that I may also watch the elusive Red Wolves, the Mexican Gray Wolves, Atka and the other three ambassador wolves Zephyr, Alawa and their little brother Nikai (whom I fell in love with as soon as I saw him and now have a tattoo of him when he was a pup on my left forearm that I display with pride).

I proudly support WCC with donations, purchasing their merchandise and signing petitions. The staff are very knowledgeable and quick to respond to a query or concern. They keep the webcam community, their numerous websites (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and others) up to date with what is happening with their beloved wolves. I have laughed with them and mourned with them when a beloved wolf dies and rejoiced with them when wolves have pups or get a mate.
