Review for GEORGIA ALLIANCE TO END HOMELESSNESS INC, Marietta, GA, USA

Rating: 4 stars

This is a physical small organization that does big work in the state of Georgia in the USA. They offer the states first Homeless/poverty services referral online database and hot line which helps those in need find specific services to help them rather than general lists. This organization does public and legislative advocacy to encourage permanent and realistic solutions to poverty and homelessness, while supporting and advocating for the local shelters in communities all through the state. This is different because i find most shelters and homeless non-profits are very guarded to collaborating with other non-profits in order to protect funding.

The GAEH however does whatever it takes to to help find the real end goal. They offer:

QESST: high standard certification to insure organization/shelters are operating safely, cleanly, and to high ethical and moral codes for their clients

Provider Network(PN): compilation of poverty and homeless service providers in Georgia, documenting their locations, services provided, and the population served. They partner with others to help keep information up to date so those seeking help can find it as fast as possible

TAPT(technical assistance and program training): Training on various subjects and program development/maintenance.

Project Promise: Is a program to be introduced soon to offer impoverished students a chance to explore their talents, career aspirations, and social life. This will be achieved through the donations of time, services, goods, and funds by communities companies and citizens who wish to play a part in ending homeless through aiding impoverished youth fulfill their dreams.

however this program is a bit lacking because of extreme funding shortages. low staff and money seem to prevent this organization from truly revolutionizing how the state of Georgia copes with poverty and homelessness of all populations.
