When my mom was having 2/3 of her lung removed due to cancer and the only thing I found peaceful and comforting was volunteering for Forest Animal Rescue by Peace River Refuge and Ranch. During her surgery I was cleaning up after animals and observing them instead of sitting in a hospital crying. It was one of the most important days of my life. I'm thankful everyday for the care they provide for the animals and for the opportunity they gave me to help care for such amazing animals.

I volunteered for two years and loved every moment of it. The care that went into every animal was astounding.
