Review for Equine Aid, Monroe, WA, USA
Geri and Doug are wonderful, warm folk who clearly care deeply for all of the animals living at their facility--horses and donkeys, of course, plus an extended menagerie of dogs, cats, chickens and ducks. I've been volunteering at Equine Aid since March of 2014 and I love every minute of it. It's an oasis for me, being amid a pushy group of donkeys, all clamoring for more carrots, and being in the presence of the horses, each beautiful in his or her own way. Some of these equines have made their way to Equine Aid from sad, heart-breaking circumstances, and it's gratifying to be able to help an organization that works to ensure that they will be loved and cared for for the rest of their lives. I'm so happy to have this volunteer opportunity, newbie horse person that I am. It's such a welcoming place.
