I have been following and donating to BCR for several years, and had the joy of visiting and volunteering at their shelter a couple of years ago. I was deeply impressed with the round-the-clock care provided, and the professionalism of the operation. Alana, the director, is very involved with the daily care of the cats and has an extremely well trained staff of caretakers. The shelter was spotless, and there are very strict cleaning protocols followed to ensure the health and welfare of the cats. All of the cats are well fed, well cared for, and loved - their enclosures are clean and full of enrichment opportunities. BCR is the real deal - the vast majority of the funds go directly to the cats (check out their IRS 990s - they are very transparent about their finances). Great charity, great sanctuary, and wonderful people.
