Review for Veterans Multi- Service Center, Philadelphia, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The men and women who work at the PVMSEC are unequivocally dedicated to helping veterans. I know from speaking with them that many of the staff are veterans themselves, and the leadership of this nonprofit has an exceptionally large amount of experience assisting veterans in multiple capacities. Since being formed, the organization has helped tens of thousands of veterans. Their day-use facility operates largely on a "no strings attached" basis; one that is particularly appealing to many disadvantaged veterans. As a veteran who is also active in helping other veterans, the PVMSEC serves as a model for me and my veterans' organization. Fortunately, we Philadelphia area veterans are not the only ones who have noticed. On several occasions, the Department of Veterans Affairs has pointed to the PVMSEC as a model for its employees as well. The numerous volunteers and staff at the PVMSEC selflessly provide services that are invaluable to the Philadelphia area in a manner that reflects an appreciation for the debt we Americans owe to those who have sacrificed while serving our country.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

visiting their day-use facility and speaking with some of the veterans taking refuge there.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

do what the VA often fails to do: spend the money such that nearly all of it would be used to assist veterans (and not for administrative costs).

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About once a year

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009
