Review for The Marine Mammal Center, Sausalito, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I've been a long-time supporter of the Marine Mammal Center and I've had the pleasure of visiting it once. The good work they do on behalf of CA Bay Area marine mammals is amazing and their voice is much needed on behalf of these wonderful creatures. I highly recommend them as a charitable cause if you love marine mammals like I do.

Review for APOPO, Antwerpen, , Belgium

Rating: 5 stars

The work they are doing is amazing. They are saving so many people from the threat of land mines and are also helping to show everyone how fantastic rats can be. I love everything that these wonderful people do.

Review for Barry R Kirshner Wildlife Foundation, Oroville, CA, USA

Rating: 2 stars

Sadly, the Kirshner Wildlife Foundation is NOT a true sanctuary. They support the breeding of exotic animals and use some of the animals in their care as traveling 'education' tools - things a real sanctuary would never do. I've also visited their location and found the enclosures lacking. If a place cannot afford the space and enrichment needed for the animals, they shouldn't take them in and let them go to a place that will provide what they need. Animals were pacing back and forth at the cage walls, a sign of stress; tigers didn't have a pool to swim in, something tigers desperately need in order to be happy, especially in a place that frequently reaches summer temps in excess of 100 degrees; I last heard they had a snow leopard, a cat that has no place in a non-temperature-controlled space located in a super-hot geographical area. All-in-all, Kirshner Wildlife is more akin to a roadside zoo than a wildlife haven.

Review for Performing Animal Welfare Society, Galt, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

PAWS is a true sanctuary - a forever home, without breeding or performing, for exotic animals. Taken in from zoos, roadside attractions, private pet ownership, etc., those in their care receive lots of space and care to live out their lives as best as they can, as returning to the wild is not an option. I've visited PAWS in the past and I love everything about them - what they offer for the animals, what they stand for opposing animals for entertainment / confinement, their never-ending-devotion to ending animal suffering. PAWS is one of the 'good guys', to say the least.

Review for Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary Inc, St. Pauls, NC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. is doing great work on behalf of cats that would often be killed in many shelters - the blind, FELV+ and FIV+. These sweet felines deserve a chance to live and be happy and they get that, with lots of love, from Blind Cat Rescue. I'm proud to be a supporter of this wonderful charity.
