Unfortunately, now they are exploited due to greed. They are shipped to Mexico and Canada to be slaughtered.
Equine Aid advocates for these voiceless victims. They have over 30 equines at their rescue. They work non stop providing the best life possible.
Koda saved from Slaughter.

In 2013 a beautiful and amazing horse was rescued from the feed lot. It is without a doubt that he would have been shipped to either Mexico or Canada for slaughter. He was transported to Equine Aid where he received a complete health check and much more. Shortly after his arrival, he managed to hurt himself. It was a long and expensive, and painful road, but Geri never gave up. A sponsor decided to take on the medical costs for this horse. Through conventional medicine and Chinese Herbs, he has made a complete recovery and now hes in training. Like so many horses, Koda is full of spirit and magic.
He truly got his second chance thanks to Geri and Doug. These two extraordinary people are both a asset to humanity, they continue to restore my faith everyday by their kindness and compassion.
