My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Starfish Foundation Inc, Milwaukee, WI, USA
I first attended the predecessor of the Vets Journey Home called the Bamboo Bridge in 1998. As a Viet Nam vet i only spoke about my war experiences to a select few, mostly other VN vets. My experience that weekend was profound and healing. Since that September day I have staffed over 30 of these weekends and each one has been exceptional. On a graduation ceremony last year we had a 3 star admiral attend who stated to the group that this work we are doing is vital and ground breaking.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
attending as a participant in 1998. It was the first time that i could hold my head high as a Viet-Nam veteran and feel proud that I served my country well and to the best of my ability
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Seeing the changes of the vets that have attended and the joy in the faces of the staff after each weekend
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Amazingly gifted and open hearted men and women whose only concern was that the veterans attending receive the healing they truly deserve
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Make a difference not only with the vets but with their loved ones who often have had to live with the consquences of the wounds of war carried by their relative. It could change the world into a much better place
