For three and a half years, I lived in fear of suffocating and losing my life in the middle of my sleep. The acid that melted away my face melted, contracted and shrunk my nostrils which made it hard for me to breath. At times I had to rely on plastic nasal tubes as breathing aids but they were so uncomfortable, they made it hard for me to sleep peacefully through the night. At the same time, I woke up with irritated and bruised nostrils caused by forced insertion of the tubes.
Today, I wake up peacefully, my fear is no more and I am full of life. This is all thanks to Face Forward for giving me this opportunity to benefit from their generous support to the survivors of domestic violence through their team of experienced surgeons. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to each and every donor who donates towards Face Forward’s cause. Every single dollar counts. For me, because of such donations, I was given back a breath of life. Face Forward paid the price for my freedom to live again. Face forward has given me reasons to smile and to embrace the brighter future ahead of me.
