I am a retired SFC/E7 from the active Army, I served in OIF 1 ,3 and 5. I suffer from TBI and PTSD but as most Soldiers I was fine, well, so I thought anyway. On a beautiful day in 2009 I decided that I had enough of smelling burnt blood and gun powder in my mind and feeling alone and out of place. I decided that I was going to commit suicide. You see, a person doesn't ever plan on killing them selves it just hits you when you have had enough of this world. So noone can count on the famous phrase, Ill never hurt myself im strong. Well so was I, Long story short I had just enough edge to haul butt to mental health and surrender my self to someone who could help. I ended up finding k9s for warriors through a friend and got excepted. I found a knew life through this family, yes this organization is my family. They saved my life, I live in peace now with my partner Lilly, a 100 pound Mastiff Lab mix by my side with the confidence to do and be anything I want in my life. I'm here in the flesh and not on the wall as a memorial to a warrior who died alone thinking no one cared. I love you K9s for warriors with all my heart and you out there who supports them.
