My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Center For Independence Of Individuals With Disabitilites Inc, San Mateo, CA, USA
Having sought their assistance with a difficult social security issue, the workers I was assigned missed deadlines, didn't show up for meetings and as a result I am paying 32 thousand dollars back to SSDI over a 1500 dollar "overpayment" incurred while my friend and in-home supportive service client had cancer and I took her to treatments. These people do not care about you or your problems, but will try to dissuade you from action, because they have people "who are really disabled." Unlike me, who was undergoing treatment for bladder cancer myself during the tribulation. These people are not good advocates and could care less.
Review for Swords to Plowshares, San Francisco, CA, USA
I was chronically unemployed after separation. Work in the San Francisco area was underpaid and spotty at best. I lived in a friend's garage. Swords To Plowshares helped me find work at the Oakland Naval Supply Center as an inventory clerk. The job paid well, was stable and allowed me the funds I needed to make it through a couple very tough years. I understand they do advocacy for people trying to file for PTSD and Non-service connected disabilities. These folks walk the walk.
