Review for Travis Manion Foundation, Doylestown, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Travis Manion Foundation is a veteran focused mentoring and advocacy group that helps prepare separated military personnel get work experience in their desired field, this can be anything from pro fishing to music management. Also, TMF has professionals that give seminars and teach various professional and life skills important to being well rounded for life in general, such as, financial literacy, networking, and resume building. In addition to job and skill building, TMF gives veterans the opportunity to give back to the community so that we may continue to serve in a different way.

I heard about this group from a veteran friend who shares my major who was currently enrolled in the program. I met with a program coordinator, Albie Masland, who informed me of what the program could do for me, listened to my story and career goals with great attention, and entered me into the next cohort that would go through the TMF program's next cycle. TMF gave me the direction to seek out three volunteer/internship opportunities in my field (nutrition), which I currently am at still learning and gaining experience.

TMF provided a safe environment for myself and 19 other veterans to have a comfortable and efficient learning experience. I was not only able to meet plenty of other veterans who were trying to find their way into the world but was given the chance to observe how the program worked carefully to provide for and attend to everyone's individual needs.

The Travis Manion Foundation made a lasting impact on my life. Currently, I receive updates on activities the foundation is engaged in. The Foundation created and still builds on a community of veterans and serves them even when the official mentoring is over. Furthermore, the Foundation provided and still provides recreational opportunities, free of charge, such as, yoga, metabolic training, and beach clean ups.

Knowing foundations like this exist reassure my faith in the human spirit. I know that as a member of the armed forces who proudly served his country that I was not forgotten about. Most importantly, TMF gave me the opportunity to honor the fallen who can no longer serve.

Thank you so much Travis Manion Foundation.
