Review for Tee It Up for the Troops Inc, Burnsville, MN, USA

Rating: 5 stars

As the father of a soldier who served in Iraq, the brother of a 20 year veteran, and the son of a WWII/Korean veteran,I am honored to be involved with the TEE IT UP FOR THE TROOPS organization. From humble beginnings at the request of a soldeir serving in Iraq for his family and friends to do something for the soldiers and the families back home, a grass roots effort was created in 2005. In five years TIUFTT has raised over $2,000,000.00 without any national media exposure. It is the american citizen telling the veteran you are appreciated-THANK YOU.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Spending time with troops at WRAMC, Balboa, golf events across the country, Marine Corp Marathon,...I have seen the organization help to change lives of the troops, and their family members. It has touched hearts across the country, and the troops overseas

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Try to get TIUFTT National exposure on one of the networks/cable. It deserves it. As the TIUFTT slogan states "Supporting those who protect us". They are doing that.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

It truly is a blessing to those who are a part of it. When a veteran tells you "This event was the turning point in my recovery" 'Best golf event and most patriotic I have ever attended" "First time I have heard THANK YOU in over 35 years for my service

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Hardworking, honest, concerned, upbeat, and truly there for the right reasons.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Expand more nationally, and in my opinion double the $10 million or more. TIUFTT would continue to have an immediate impact and not only change lives, but save lives. TIUFTT has contributed to over 40 support programs across the country.(The USO of Golf!)

Ways to make it better...

I could have spent more time, and met more of those who serve and have served.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

It is all volunteer. It will have growing pains, but it will get through them, and come out stronger. An organization that has paid for an audit annually, and has nearly 95% of its donations impacting the intended recipients is OK with me.

One thing I'd also say is that...

It is an organization that has truly touched the lives of those who have participated, volunteers and veterans. They come back and participate again, and again, and again

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
