My work as a volunteer with Wilshire Hospice has enriched my life. Seeing how family members and patients take care of one another is tender and loving. The staff, Volunteer Coordinator, musician, nurses, ministers and professionals have given me a refreshing look at how a client's end-of-life experiences can be made inspirational and, especially, pain free.

By taking seniors to doctor's appointments, grocery shopping and vital errands (Wilshire Good Neighbor Program), I feel that I am making a gift to my community. This program would have helped my senior mother a great deal, but it wasn't available where she lived. When I take the seniors on these errands, I feel I am making up for all the errands for which my mother would have benefited. This is a wonderful feeling for me.
