Review for GreatNonprofits, Redwood City, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars   Featured Review

We are a small nonprofit that provides free full-day programs to schools and other organizations serving homeless, impoverished, and special needs children. Being listed on Great Nonprofits has been the strongest marketing tool we have. We not only direct all of our grant/fundraising requests to our feedback page, we also get unsolicited donations from the general public who read about us on this site. As an example, I received a phone call from a business I was not familiar with. They said they wanted to donate to a local nonprofit and saw us when they checked out Great Nonprofits. We received a $5,000 donation, We have earned the Top Rated Nonprofit status for the past nine years and totally appreciate the benefits being listed with Great Nonprofits provides us.

Review for Phoenix Metro Lions Club Foundation Inc, Glendale, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

For twenty-five years, my 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization has worked closely with the Phoenix Metro Lions Club. They regularly partner with us to produce projects that serve children living in abject poverty. Having managed nonprofits for decades, I am impressed with the responsible way their foundation conducts business. Besides having regular audits to assure that funding is distributed properly, they always go out of their way to make sure their entire membership is aware of what they are doing and actively involved. They have earned my trust and respect. The Phoenix Metro Lions Club Foundation should definitely be considered if you are looking for a place where your donation will safely be applied to worthy community causes.

Review for Lions Camp Tatiyee Inc, Mesa, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Having managed programs for special needs children for over thirty years, I have always been impressed with the quality of the programs Camp Tatiyee provides. Their facilities are well maintained and designed to specifically support the type of campers they serve. I have found their staff and volunteers to be well trained, dedicated to the program, and committed to providing everyone with the very best camping experience possible. In addition, their efforts and operations are supported by the Lions Clubs of Arizona, which provides assistance with funding and volunteers. Awesome!

Review for Santa America Inc, Overland Park, KS, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Santa America is one of those special nonprofits that supports children and their families who are in crisis. They recruit, train, and coordinate a national team of volunteer Santas who make themselves available to comfort those in need. They have created an extensive three-day workshop to train their volunteers. This highly acclaimed one-of-a-kind professional symposium teaches the skills necessary to effectively serve children who are dealing with grief or are in crisis. The tuition fee is low, and they waive it if you become a Santa America volunteer. Their highly specialized training in death, bereavement, post-traumatic stress, and autism provides a profound service to your community. As a masters’ level counselor with forty years’ experience serving clients with these issues, I have been extremely impressed with how comprehensive their curriculum is. There are very few places where extensive training such as this is so readily available.

Review for Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona, Phoenix, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

For almost twenty five years now, I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona. Over the years, they have provided mentoring programs to adolescents in treatment programs I managed, I have served on their Mentor Board, and for the past two decades they have collaborated with us at our events serving homeless, impoverished, and special needs children. As an Expressive Arts Therapist, I can’t say enough about their professionalism, commitment to our clients, and quality of the experience they provide. Their staff and volunteers are always well-trained and the activities they provide are exceptional, captivating everyone involved. I have found Free Arts to be one of the best run organizations that I deal with and an example of exemplary nonprofit management. They are indeed a positive resource for our community.
