I have been a Trustee on the CFEF Board for about 19 years now. Education is a subject I care very deeply about and working with CFEF has been a joy. Several years ago, I was asked to Chair a newly forming Student Success Committee and I was pleased to do so. As a former counselor with the Lone Star College System, student success is something very close to my heart. We match our Scholars with a Success Coach for the students'
freshman year. I have written a "Success Tips" manual we give to each student and we each week we send out a Success Tip. Sharing these tips gives our Coaches and Scholars a chance to touch base. Sometimes just having an adult in their corner--who is not their parent--means a lot. Plus we are available to answer questions, be their cheerleader, or provide what ever support is needed.
CFEF is a wonderful organization, filled with people who work tirelessly for the betterment of our graduating high school seniors. I am proud to be a member of this amazing team!
