Since 2009, I have volunteered with 10,000 Degrees, an outstanding nonprofit headquartered in San Rafael, California, that provides programs and resources to help students access, enroll and successfully complete college. I served as a mentor to three high school students who were applying to college and were the first in their families to consider education beyond high school. It was truly an honor to get to know these students and help them to achieve their dreams of higher education. I was impressed by their hard work and perseverance and continue to follow their progress and successes. I have also had the chance to serve on the advancement committee of 10,000 Degrees and greatly enjoy partnering with dedicated volunteers and outstanding staff to reach out and engage potential donors in the mission of 10,000 Degrees. 10,000 Degrees is an impactful, well-run nonprofit that makes a tremendous difference. I am proud to be associated with such a great mission, talented staff, committed volunteers, and incredible students.
