I was an immigrant job seeker and found Upwardly Global almost 3 years after my arrival in the USA. The immigrant worker classes, cultural knowledge and resume and job search support I got allowed me to move from a minimum paying job as a care attendant, to a communications manager in the tech industry earning 4 times the salary I was earning as an overqualified caregiver. The experience was amazing, from the friendships I made in the class, to the volunteers and mentors that served me, and the opportunities that they directly opened to me, including introducing me as a candidate to Cisco Systems, where I got my first corporate job.
