Prior to my retirement I was a vendor to SOSA. I can tell you these people are dedicated and practice what they preach. There was never any evidence of waste even on the business side. I have found over the years that a lot of businesses would change a plan, or decide that something needed updating, and just toss everything that was being used prior. Not these people, I saw partial packages of paper, being saved and used for other purposes, Was told of pieces of furniture, or equipment that were still functional, that were re purposed to other offices or projects. Was always very impressed with the people I dealt with. So after my retirement, when my wife pointed out that I needed something to do, I turned to SOSA. I have been working as a volunteer for the last 2 years, both gleaning fields and orchards as opportunities arose, and working with Farmers Markets collecting produce that didn't sell because it wasn't quite as pretty as the grocery store display. I have been overwhelmed by the desire of the local markets to support SOSA and by the gratitude of the Food Banks and Kitchens that the donations go to. I would ask you to consider this origination for any and all support you can offer!
